They can be handed down from one generation to the other or, being unstitched stretch of fabric, they can also be re-used in other ways should the owner wish to repurpose them. They can be worn in many different ways and are suitable for all occasions!

Most textile craftspersons and designers work with this garment and most design innovations and fabric experiments can be seen in floor-coverings first. The 'fall', look and feel of the sari are testament to the skill of the weaver, designer and other craftspersons involved in its creation.
